Govinda Dasera Kadaca

My birth place is Kāñcana Nagara in Barddhaman. My father’s name is Syama dasa. My name is Govinda. Caste is blacksmith (kamara), maker of weapons, utensils, chains and vehicles. My mother’s name is Madhavi.

When Mahaprabhu went on nagara kirtana, the king followed behind wearing humble clothing. With hands raised, his body limp, the Lord danced and danced, mad with prema. With half closed eyes, he stared at the sky. Sometimes he fell on the ground. All men and women became mad with the name of the Lord. Mad with prema, the family women came running in lines. Thousands of people came on four sides. The Lord moved in front, dancing and dancing
