Lecture by Srila Gour Govinda Swami
C.C Adi 11.35-40
Srila Gour Govinda Swami Maharaj appeared in Jagannathapur in Orissa, India in 1929.
In 1975 he took sannyasa and preached throughout the world. Especially in Orissa he organised Padayatra and Namahatta Programs. He opened the Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandi in 1991, saying "I have opened a 'crying school' here in Bhubaneswar. Unless we cry for Krishna, we cannot get his mercy". He was very meek and humble in his personal dealings, but in his classes he would roar like a lion, smashing the pride and cutting the misconceptions from the hearts of his listeners.
Krishna leela was his life and soul. On 9th February 1996, speaking on Jagannath leela he gave his final instruction, "Kirtana! Kirtana!" he called out the name of "Gopal!" and left the world.
