Can you foretell death? Why did Srila Prabhupada not travel on Thursday afternoons? Why do sometimes our endeavors go futile? How come Srila Prabhupada predicted rain? Why are we considered to be under the grip of maya if we fail to recognize the signs and indications? What are the 64 traditional arts? Are these arts connected to Krishna consciousness? These are some very intriguing subject matters that are very intimately connected to Krishna consciousness, yet not easily revealed!
The first in the series, "Nimitta-Jnana, The Art of Foretelling Events", in support of traditional education is just out hot from the press!
Nimitta-Jnana, is an interesting, deeply Krishna conscious and a mystical subject matter that engages the reader in exploring the dynamic, meaningful and ever interacting world around us! The art of observing and interpreting the signs of this interactive world is the subject matter of this book that explains the ashtanga nimitta or the eight types of nimitta; The Bhauma, Utpata, Ulkapata, Svapna, Anga, Lakshana, Vyanjana and Svara.
Included is the account of Sri Madhvacharya's commentary dealing with the intriguing subject matter of 'Signs at the time of death'.
The special feature is the inclusion of a rare manuscript called 'Khanar Vachana' dealing with nimittas related to diverse subject matters of Journey, Animals and Birds, Agriculture and Rain Prediction. The thumb rules, the sacrosanct indications, the goals of nimitta-jnana along with appendices make the book holistic in its presentation.
Here are excerpts of blessings obtained by senior Vaisnavas:
"To our great fortune, one of these 64 Arts has come to light and has been made available. Nimitta-Jnana comes as a breath of fresh air and a sign of great hope that some of this original knowledge can be recovered."
HG Bhakti Raghava Swami
"Taking information from traditional texts, this book nicely presents the subject in a consistent manner which is helpful for the aspirant wanting knowledge of this subject, along with a Vaisnava perspective."
HG Bhanu Swami
In Krsna's vedic culture, people were trained from childhood in the science of how to identify and interpret the various messages (nimitta) that Krsna was sending them. But with growing atheism and loss of culture, this art has become obscured. We are therefore very happy that so much labor has been taken to put together this valuable resource.
Sri Shyamasundar Prabhu (ACBSP), Jyotish Cudamani
"The practical application of becoming an instrument in the hands of Krsna always remained a puzzle. This wonderful compilation gives a new dimension in understanding what is actually meant by nimitta-matra."
Sri Gadadhar Pandit Prabhu (ISKCON Russia)
